Ellatuvalapil Sreedharan is one of India's greatest civil engineers, the architect of the Konkan Railway, and, more recently, designer of the Delhi Metro system. Here he talks about public transportation and whether the responsibility lies solely with the government at a cost to the taxpayer, or does private industry, which benefits from these infrastructure projects, need to contribute more.
