Developing Arctic resources safely and responsibly

Hosted by Robert Blaauw, Lead for Shell’s Global Arctic Theme

Session closed August 18, 2011

The Arctic is a unique environment and is home to indigenous people who depend on its resources for subsistence. Oil and gas reserves in the Arctic have been developed for decades and there is a huge potential for more. At Shell, we have been operating in the area for over 40 years and our work is centred on the safety of and respect for the local people and their environment. We also have a record of leading the development of technologies needed to overcome the challenges of developing oil and gas in the Arctic.

Robert Blaauw hosted our latest webchat 'Developing Arctic resources safely and responsibly' and with experts from Shell answered over 80 questions.

Transcripts from the event are available below, including an additional transcript covering questions that were not answered on the day.
